Was dead set against buying a used backpack until I checked the zippers first

I always figured a thrift store bag would fail on me fast, but after reading about how to test YKK zippers for wear I grabbed a $12 Jansport that's held up through 3 months of daily use. Anybody else changed their tune on buying secondhand gear?

Ha! My favorite thrifted bag had a broken buckle I fixed with a keyring and it's still going strong two years later.

Pretty sure keyrings were invented for exactly this, not just holding keys.
