I've been operating loaders for a while now, and the lockout tagout rules feel like a huge time sink. For example, when I need to quick check the hydraulics, I have to fully lock out the machine which takes forever. Last job, this added like an extra hour to my day just for paperwork. Safety is key, but the current system seems broken. Has anyone found a workaround that still keeps things safe? I heard some sites use electronic systems, but my company won't budge. Just needed to rant and see if others feel the same.
Tbh, I thought they were just paperwork until a hydraulic leak we caught early kept the job on schedule.
