I finally got ghosted after a third interview and it still stings

Spent two weeks preparing for a final round interview with a marketing firm in Denver. Showed up early, answered all their questions well, even joked with the hiring manager. That was six days ago and I haven't heard a word back, not even a rejection email. I called once and left a message but got nothing. Has anyone else had luck following up with a company that goes completely silent like that?

Did you try sending a polite email instead of calling? Sometimes phone messages get lost in the shuffle but emails sit in their inbox. Most companies ghost because they're either scared to say no or they already picked someone else and are just bad at closing the loop. Give it one more shot with a short email, then let it go if you still get nothing. It is super frustrating but it happens to everyone.

Nah I gotta disagree with you there honestly. Emails get lost just as easy if not easier than voicemails these days. Most people's inboxes are an absolute dumpster fire and your polite little note is gonna get buried under a hundred other emails they don't care about. At least with a phone call you can actually tell if someone picked up or if it went straight to a dead mailbox. Also companies ghost because they don't respect your time period, not because they're scared or bad at closing loops. They figure if they ignore you long enough you'll give up and they won't have to deal with the awkwardness of rejection. That's just how the game works now whether we like it or not.
