That advice to 'just forgive and forget' with my dad was garbage.

My therapist told me last year to cut contact with my alcoholic dad instead of chasing closure, and six months in I actually sleep through the night now. Has anyone else found that cutting people off worked better than trying to fix things?

Did you catch that sleep study they talked about on the radio last week? It said even an extra 30 minutes of solid sleep can make a huge difference in how you feel the next day. I've been trying to cut out screens an hour before bed and it's actually helped me a lot too. Glad to hear it's working out for you.
