Found a hidden pipe leak by checking my water meter at 2am

Woke up to use the bathroom and heard water running. Checked the meter outside and it was spinning even with everything off. Saved myself $400 in potential foundation damage by catching it early. Has anyone else tried the midnight meter trick?

Oh man, that midnight meter trick just saved you big time. Smart thinking.

Joke about being a tree guy who can't fix his own pipes... but I did the same thing last month when my water bill doubled for no reason.
