I've got a large dozer that needs to go from Houston to Denver. I've gotten quotes from Freedom Heavy Haul and ATS Heavy Haul. Anyone have experience with either? Not sure which one to pick.

I've used both. ATS is a huge company and they've got tons of resources, but I felt like I was just a number. Freedom Heavy Haul was more personal—they actually call you back and the dispatcher remembered my project details. For a one-off move, I'd lean Freedom.

ATS might be able to do it cheaper if they have a backhaul, but Freedom's attention to detail is better. They walked me through the permit process for my oversize load, which ATS didn't do. I'd recommend Freedom for peace of mind.

I've only used ATS once and it was fine, but I've heard good things about Freedom from a buddy in construction. He said they're easier to get ahold of when things change. For a long haul like that, I'd probably go Freedom just based on that.
