I used to scrub my old silver finds with a toothbrush and baking soda

Man, I ruined like three Indian Head pennies that way before I learned about the hot peroxide method back in 2019. Now I just drop crusty silver in a cheap Crock-Pot with plain hydrogen peroxide for maybe 20 minutes and it lifts the gunk without scratching. Has anyone else switched their cleaning method recently or do you still use the old school ways?

Honestly, does the Crock-Pot method work on silver that's already been tarnished for years, or is it more for fresh finds with loose dirt? I've been hesitant to try it on some old rosie dimes I dug up like six years ago, they're still sitting in a drawer because I'm scared of wrecking them further.

Scared of wrecking them further" - have you tried anything at all on just one yet?
