Found a 95 Bronco in a barn out in Ohio last month, the suspension was so rusted the leaf springs literally snapped when we tried to jack it up
I got a call from a buddy who knows I mess with old trucks, said there was a Bronco sitting in his uncle's barn near Columbus that hadn't moved since 2008. Drove out there with my trailer, took one look at the frame and thought oh boy. The leaf springs were so crusted over with rust they looked like they'd been sitting in salt water for a decade. We got the jack under the rear axle and started cranking, and bam, one of the leaves just cracked clean in half. Sounded like a gunshot. Had to cut the whole assembly out with a torch just to get it on the trailer. Anyone else run into suspension bits that just gave up the ghost after sitting too long?

Ninamartin I get being cautious but it's not that big a deal. I've pulled a few trucks out of fields where the whole undercarriage looked like it came off the Titanic. Yeah the springs snapped but that's pretty much expected after 15 years sitting in Ohio humidity. You just bring a torch and some new hardware, no biggie. Half the fun is figuring out what's gonna fight you next.
