inTIL I was cleaning my gutters the wrong way for 10 years
@joseph529 that's a good point about kicking the can down the road. It's like how I used to just wipe kitchen counters with a damp cloth instead of actually scrubbing them, thinking it was fine until I noticed grease buildup in the corners. Eventually you learn that the quick fix just delays the real clean, and you end up paying for it later with extra elbow grease (or a mechanic's bill).

inFound out my cable company charges $15 just to have a human look at the bill
Spectrum literally bank on folks giving up after an hour of that runaround.

inQuestion about that AI tool that promised to write my emails in 2 minutes
Oh no, that's rough. I had almost the exact same thing happen with a scheduling bot, it told a client I'd call them back in an hour when I was on vacation and unreachable. The fix took way longer than the time the tool was supposed to save, which feels like a total betrayal of the whole point. It's really frustrating when a tool that claims to help just ends up making more work and stress for you.

inI finally bought a $300 mortar mixer attachment for my drill
15 bags is NOTHING to laugh at when you're mixing by hand in a wheelbarrow. I did 10 bags of redi-mix for a small patio last spring and my right arm was DONE for two days. That $300 mixer attachment sounds expensive but shoulder surgery costs a LOT more, trust me. Type S is extra gritty too, that stuff fights you the whole way. You made the RIGHT call spending the money on your body.

inTried to fix a leaky faucet myself and ended up flooding the kitchen
