Pest control guy told me something that changed how I store firewood
Guy came out to treat an ant hill near my wood pile. He said most people stack wood right against their house. I had mine about 6 inches off the siding. He told me it should be at least 2 feet away, preferably more. Termites and carpenter ants love that moisture and cover. Saved me a headache down the road. Anyone else get surprised by a random tip from a service pro?

Did the same thing after a plumber told me to move mine away from the foundation.

Plumber's not always right about everything though. My neighbor has his right up against the house for 20 years and never had a single issue. If it ain't broke, why move it?
