Hit 50 pounds of trash saved in one month and it messed with my head

I finally weighed my weekly haul after a month of composting and buying bulk and realized I cut my landfill waste by 50 pounds. Made me wonder what else I'm not seeing the real cost of. Anybody track their numbers and get a shock?

My own trash audit happened when I moved apartments last year and had to haul my own bags. 42 pounds of garbage for just one week. That was the wake up call that made me start composting. It really does mess with your head when you put a number on it. You start second guessing every single purchase.

Weighed my own trash once and realized half of it was just me feeling guilty about takeout containers. @nora184 at least you turned it into composting, I just bought a scale and then ignored it for six months.
