I finally called out a contractor at the Lowe's on Montgomery for giving awful advice

Honestly, I was grabbing some deck screws last month and overheard this guy named Mike telling a new homeowner that they could just use regular drywall mud on their exterior stucco patch. Tbh, I stepped in and said that would crack in a single freeze-thaw cycle here in Abq and they needed a proper stucco mix. Ngl, he got real quiet and just walked off. Has anyone else had to correct bad info from a so-called pro at a big box store?

I get what you're saying about training, but the garden center guy at my store actually knows his stuff. He saved my tomatoes last year.

Yeah, it's like that everywhere now... people just guessing and hoping no one calls them on it. I see it with the garden center guys giving plant advice that'll kill everything by June. Makes you wonder if they get any real training or just a name tag and a vague job title. Kind of sad how often you have to double-check what you hear, even from someone who's supposed to know.
