Just realized I've patched the same hallway wall 14 times in 20 years
I was up on a ladder last weekend fixing another door knob dent in the hallway when my wife asked if I even remembered the first time I patched it. Had to think about it, and it was back around 2005, when we first moved into this place off Eubank. Back then I used that pink spackle that goes on pink and dries white, and I thought I was a pro. Now I've got a whole system with the blue bucket stuff, a flexible putty knife, and a sanding sponge, and it still takes me two tries to get it smooth. The thing is, the wall keeps getting dinged no matter what I do, kids, groceries, the vacuum, you name it. I stopped counting after ten or so, but when I did the math it was 14 patches in 20 years. Makes me wonder if I should just put a chair rail up and call it a day. Has anyone else had one spot in their house that just keeps needing work no matter what?
