Realized my "let's grab coffee" invites were going nowhere

Last month I asked 4 different coworkers for coffee after work and got 3 vague maybes and 1 direct no. Turns out I was being too casual, so now I name a specific cafe and time in the invite. Has anyone else found that being too laid back about plans makes people flake?

That "too casual" thing is spot on, I notice people treat vague plans like optional suggestions. It’s the same with group hangouts or events - if you don’t lock in a place and time, everyone assumes it’s not real. Giving a specific option shows you’re actually serious about meeting up, and it makes people think twice before blowing you off.

Haha yeah that's basically me asking people to hang out then sitting on my couch silently praying they forget so I don't have to leave the house. Locking in a plan is dangerous for introverts like me.
