Just realized I've been paying $45 a month for a gym membership I never use since March
Tbh I signed up for Planet Fitness back in March thinking "this time will be different" and I've been there exactly twice. The auto-pay just kept hitting my account and I never noticed until I actually looked at my bank statements yesterday. Has anyone else had to call them to cancel, because I heard they make it kinda painful to get out of?

...yeah I read somewhere that Planet Fitness makes you send a certified letter or show up in person to cancel, which feels super shady honestly. A friend of mine had to go through that whole ordeal and said it took like three weeks of back and forth before they finally stopped charging her. Meanwhile my bank wouldn't even help because it was "authorized recurring" or something like that. Makes me wonder how many people just let it slide out of frustration...
