Serious question, who else got burned by an AI tool promising the moon?
Last month I jumped on this AI scheduling assistant for my roofing crew, thought it would save me hours. Three days in, it double booked two big jobs, one in Portland and one in Beaverton, and I had to call a client to cancel, lost a $4,000 contract over it. The company behind it had this slick demo showing how it learns your patterns, but it just couldn't handle the chaos of last minute rain delays and material shortages. I went back to my old paper calendar and a whiteboard, which is slower but at least I know where I stand. Has anyone else had an AI tool mess up something that cost you real money?

Stick with what works. Paper and whiteboards never double book you.

Totally agree with the "never double book you" part. I tried going all digital with my calendar and reminders for a while but stuff would always slip through the cracks. Now I keep a physical planner on my desk for the day's top three tasks and use a plain whiteboard for quick notes. Having them right there in front of me means I actually see my appointments and deadlines instead of ignoring them in a phone notification. It's honestly cut down my stress a ton because I'm not constantly checking a screen.
