Found a hidden crack on a 737 flap track during a routine check

I was doing a standard B-check on a 737-800 last Tuesday and spotted a hairline crack on the inboard flap track. Turns out it was from a manufacturing defect back in 2019 according to the logbooks. Has anyone else caught stuff like that on older airframes?

Did your inspection find any other corrosion nearby, or was it just the one crack? I had a buddy find a similar hairline on a DC-9 flap carriage a few years ago, and it turned out to be a stress point from an old repair that wasn't filed right. He said the paperwork was a mess to sort out, but catching it early saved a lot of grief.

Actually that crack was solo, no corrosion nearby, just a single stress fracture from a bad rivet repair.
