Walked through the Delta hangar at ATL last week and noticed something weird

I was out at the Delta TechOps hangar in Atlanta last week helping a buddy with an engine swap on a 737. What caught my eye was how many mechanics are now running their own tablets for manuals instead of the company issued ones. I counted at least 8 guys using iPads with the AMM pulled up on a stand. Has anyone else seen this shift toward personal devices on the floor? Seems like it could cause issues if someone drops one in a fuel tank.
