Isn't it funny how gothic anime can spark such deep conversations but also leave you scratching your head? Last week I tried explaining Vampire Hunter D to my sister and ended up talking about existential dread for an hour.

Oh man, "existential dread for an hour" - that's basically my life story (just replace "explaining anime" with "trying to fall asleep at 2am"). I once tried to explain Hellsing to my mom and she still thinks Alucard is just "that pale vampire boy who needs a nap.
