Watching the 'End of Evangelion' premiere in a packed theater in Shinjuku back in '97 made me realize we're all just arguing about our own personal interpretations anyway...
The guy next to me was sobbing at the hospital scene while the girl in front of us was just confused, and it hit me that the 'right' answer in any anime debate is usually just the one that feels true to you.

the right answer is the one that feels true to you" really got me, I used to argue about this stuff.

That line hits hard because it's so simple. Arguing feels like you're getting somewhere, but it's mostly just noise. Truth that feels right sticks with you way longer than any point you ever won in a fight. Letting go of that need to be correct is a huge relief. It's like putting down a heavy weight you didn't know you were carrying.

My first watch of Perfect Blue was just me and a friend in his basement. He saw a deep horror movie about fame, I just saw a scary cartoon about a singer. That movie taught me more about different views than any class ever did.
