That one call for a fridge in the old brick apartments on Maple Street

Got a call for a fridge not cooling in a building from the 1940s, and the whole access panel was rusted shut. Ended up having to carefully drill out three screws just to get to the condenser coil, which was packed with what looked like decades of dust. Has anyone else had to deal with a repair where the building itself was the biggest obstacle?

Ever hear about my buddy who had to fix a boiler in a crawlspace full of old newspapers?

Oh man, @adams.ivan, that sounds like a total nightmare waiting to happen. Makes me think of the time I helped my uncle clear out a basement that was just stacks of National Geographic magazines from like the 70s. You ever try to move a water heater with a path made of old, damp paper? It's like trying to walk on wet leaves, but it's also a fire hazard. That crawlspace must have been a real special kind of dusty and awful.
