Why does nobody talk about the time a squirrel's nest caused a full day's delay on a simple removal in Cincinnati?

We had a 60-foot maple lined up for a quick removal last Tuesday, but a frantic mama squirrel kept darting back into her nest in the crown, so we had to halt everything for nearly four hours until animal control could safely relocate her and the babies (which, honestly, was kind of heartwarming to watch).

My buddy had a job held up for two days because a possum family decided his work truck's engine block was a five-star hotel. The city wildlife people said it was a "low priority dispatch" since nobody was in danger. He just sat there drinking gas station coffee watching the mama possum glare at him from under the hood. Sometimes the system just moves at its own slow pace for the small stuff.

Nearly four hours" is the part that gets me. Animal control took that long to show up for a squirrel? What were they doing, coming from another state? I get waiting, but a full work day shot over a nest is wild.
