Finally asked a stranger at the DMV a question and it saved me a whole second trip
I was at the DMV in Boise last Tuesday to renew my license, and I noticed the guy next to me had the same form I did but he was already done. I asked him one dumb question about which line to get in, and it turned out I had the wrong form entirely. Has anyone else had a random stranger save them at a government office like that?

That "one dumb question about which line to get in" thing is so real, because the smallest question can save you hours. I did the same thing at the post office last year when I asked some lady if I was in the right line and she told me I needed a totally different counter. Honestly, just opening your mouth and asking beats standing there guessing every time.

When you asked that lady, did you feel weird about it at first or just go for it? Most people stand in the wrong line for 20 minutes because they don't want to look dumb for 10 seconds. What's the worst that actually happens if you ask and the person doesn't know either?
