I tried using a DA sander on low speed for clear coat work and got way less burn-through on edges

Figured I'd save time by running it fast like always, but after burning through the clear on a 2023 Honda fender panel last Tuesday, I dropped to 3,000 RPM and the finish came out way smoother with zero edge strikes - has anyone else found that going slower actually saves you from having to respray a whole panel?

And running it slower lets you actually see the clear flow out before it gets too thin.

Ha, I used to be team "crank it up and hope for the best" but yeah, you're totally right. Taking it slow really does make a difference, I can finally see what's actually going on instead of just guessing.
