After a frustrating day with a stubborn engine code, I'm done with short diagnostic windows!
My shop now limits us to 20 minutes per initial scan, and it's crazy! Today, I spent two hours on a Honda that kept throwing a P0300 code because of a wiring harness issue. If we had more time upfront, we could avoid wasting hours later. Rushing just leads to guesses instead of real fixes!

That 20-minute scan limit sounds like a recipe for trouble. I once tried to fix a simple issue on my truck and made it worse by rushing through the steps. More time at the start really does prevent bigger messes later.

What happened with your truck exactly? I used to be all about just getting started fast on stuff like that. But hearing stories like yours totally flipped my view. Now I see that skipping the careful look at the beginning just sets you up to waste way more time fixing new problems you caused. That scan limit forces the exact kind of rush job that leads to those bigger messes. Taking more time up front isn't a delay, it's the only way to actually get it right.

Bigger messes later" seems a bit dramatic lol. It's just a time limit, not a disaster.
