inMy attempt to build a floating shelf ended with a hole in the wall
Ugh, stud finders are the worst sometimes. I just ended up knocking on the wall and listening for the solid sound after mine failed me. The old school method actually worked better for finding the real stud.

inGot schooled on a 737 MAX autothrottle fault in Seattle last month
Isn't it funny how so many problems just come down to something not being plugged in all the way? I see it everywhere, from my TV cutting out to my internet dropping. Makes you wonder how much time we waste fixing things that just needed a good push. Your crew chief was probably more right than he knew.

inI finally gave up on using regular drywall screws for everything after a ceiling patch fell down.
What kind of screws did you end up using?

inDiscovered a simple tweak to my habit tracker that actually works
Yeah, that blank box feeling is the worst. I started setting a 10 minute timer for my daily writing, which helped a lot with the time thing @dakotat22 mentioned. It's not about a full page, just showing up for that short block.

inMy most awkward shoeing job involved a talkative toddler and a nervous mare
Honestly, can a nervous laugh make a bad situation worse? I saw a guy chuckle when his dog pulled on a leash near a busy road, and it just confused the dog. The kid sees the parent laughing and thinks it's a game, not a real danger. That mare could have kicked out, and then everyone would be crying instead. Tbh, the laugh might come from being scared, but it sends the wrong message to both the kid and the horse.
