Spent 3 hours chasing a misfire on a 2015 F150 that turned out to be a bad coil ground
Had a truck come in with a rough idle and a P0304 code. Swapped plugs, coils, even checked compression, all good. Finally pulled the wiring harness back and found the ground wire for that coil pack was barely hanging on, corroded at the connector. My old mentor used to say 'always check the simple stuff first' but I guess I forgot. Anyone else get tripped up by a bad ground on these newer Fords?

Glad you found it but that's not really the simple stuff. A bad ground wire buried in the harness is an intermediate electrical fault, not a basic check. The simple stuff is swapping the coil with another cylinder to see if the code moves. You skipped the free and easy step that would have pointed right at that wiring problem. Always do the swap test first, it saves so much time.
