Took me 10 years to realize I was torquing lug nuts in the wrong order

I've been tightening lug nuts in a circle pattern since I started working at a shop in Ohio back in 2014. Last month a customer's wheel came loose on the highway and I saw the brake rotor was warped from uneven pressure. Has anyone else had to unlearn a basic habit that seemed fine for years?

Did you check the stud threads for damage after that or just swap the wheel back on?

Holy crap, you mean you just slapped the wheel back on without checking the threads? That's a blown hub waiting to happen.
