Took a crack at restoring an old nav unit for fun, and it actually powered up.

I've been tinkering with this thing for months in my spare time. Seeing the display light up for the first time was a real thrill. Next step is to get the readings right.

Dials on the control board often get dirty and need a clean with contact cleaner. A gentle wipe with a cotton swab usually fixes the readings.

Try vodka like @terry_walker, works in a pinch.

My old amp’s volume knob used vodka when cleaner ran out.
