Tried a 'family meeting' script from a blog and it backfired hard

I used a free printable template to talk to my brother about borrowing my car without asking, and he literally laughed at me halfway through because it sounded like a work performance review. The failed part was when I read 'I feel concerned when you take the keys' and he said 'dude, just say no next time.' Anyone found a way to bring up limits without sounding like a robot?

Yeah honestly I kinda see where your brother is coming from. That script stuff reads like a corporate HR email and nobody talks like that in real life. Just be straight up with him next time like "hey don't take my car without asking or I'll start hiding the keys" and leave it at that.

Honestly I used to be all about those scripts, but this thread kinda made me realize how unnatural they are.
