Found a shortcut on the Appalachian Trail near Blood Mountain
Took the Freeman Trail cutoff instead of sticking with the AT between Neels Gap and the summit, saved me about 45 minutes and dodged most of the crowd on a Saturday. Anybody else use the less marked side routes to skip the busy sections?

Oh man, I took a similar shortcut on the Long Trail last year and it was a game changer!
