Why does nobody talk about trail markers fading in the sun?
I was hiking the Wind River High Route last month and missed a turn that cost me 3 extra miles because a cairn had completely blended into the rocks. It hit me that I've been blindly trusting markers without checking the map for years. Has anyone else had a close call from relying too much on those markers?
