Spent $35 on a fancy Danish dough whisk and broke it on the first batch of cinnamon rolls

I saw everyone raving about those weird wire dough whisks for bread and pastry. Figured it would be a game changer for my sticky doughs. First use, I'm mixing up a double batch of cinnamon rolls for a family brunch, dough is super cold and stiff, and I hear this loud SNAP. The handle just cracked in half. Dough whisk is now a dough poker. Now I'm back to using a wooden spoon like my grandma did. Anyone else have a baking tool that let you down immediately?

Broke my $40 silicon spatula stirring a pot of chili before it even touched a hot pan. Guess some tools just have a death wish. At least your whisk went out in a blaze of cinnamon glory.

Oh did you see that thread on r/baking last week about these things? Someone tested like 5 different brands and said the handles snap right off if the dough is even a little bit cold. I was actually about to buy one until I read that. Honestly it sounds like a total scam for $35 when a good wooden spoon costs like $5 and lasts forever. Your grandma definitely knew what she was doing with that wooden spoon. I bet that cinnamon roll dough was still delicious though even if the whisk died fighting for its life.
