Took me 4 hours to figure out a fading clipper issue

I've been cutting hair for about 12 years now, and I ran into something yesterday that had me stumped. My Wahl Seniors started fading unevenly on one side, no matter what I did with the lever or blade gap. I spent a full 4 hours checking everything, cleaning, re-oiling, swapping blades. Finally figured out it was a tiny piece of hair jammed under the blade spring, something I never would have guessed. Has anyone else had a clipper issue that took way too long to solve?

Man, this reminds me of a buddy who cuts hair out of his garage on weekends. He spent a good three hours one night trying to fix his clippers that kept overheating and dying halfway through a cut. He cleaned everything twice, changed the oil, even took a few blades apart. Turns out, the little screws on the side were loose and causing the blade to rub against the motor housing just enough to heat it up. He told me he almost threw the whole thing in the trash before he noticed it. Sometimes it's the tiniest, dumbest little thing that'll drive you crazy.

Whoa, three hours just from loose screws? That's wild, I'd probably have chucked the whole thing out the window by hour two!
