Unpopular opinion: scissor over comb is faster than clippers for taper fades on thick hair

I tried a full taper with just shears on a client last Tuesday in Phoenix and finished 8 minutes quicker than my usual clipper work, but the blend was way softer and the guy actually asked for my card afterwards, has anyone else found this or am I just slow with my Andis?

Scissor over comb forces you to slow down and feel the weight as you go, which kills the blend on thick hair because you're not fighting against the clipper guard catching strands. I did the same swap on a guy with coarse Filipino hair and the finish was so smooth I barely had to detail with my trimmers. If you're finishing quicker and the client is happy, your Andis are probably fine and you just found a better rhythm for that texture.
