Box cutter swap saved my hands at the register
Used to use those standard yellow utility knives at my deli counter. Cutting through 40 pounds of cheese a day wrecked my palms. Switched to a safety blade with the auto-retract from the supply room. No more blisters and I don't have to fight the thing open every 20 seconds. Anyone else found a tool that just makes their shift bearable?

Those auto-retract blades always jam up on me, I prefer the old fixed ones.

Get a little bottle of dry lube and hit the pivot points every few weeks, that's what solved the jamming issue on mine. I spent a whole season fighting with a stuck blade before a buddy told me to stop using WD-40, which just gums them up worse. Also make sure you're not cranking down the tension screw too tight, they need just enough snug to hold but not so tight it binds. Once I figured out that balance they've been pretty solid for me, even in wet grass.
