Honestly used to think a quiet grinder was just a luxury. That metallic shriek at dawn is a real wake-up call, pun intended. My old one sounded like it was chewing rocks before it quit. Definitely getting one with better burrs next time.

Yeah that metallic shriek is the worst. I got a ceramic burr grinder last year and the noise difference is huge, way less of a morning crime scene.
