TIL the average fast food drive-thru takes 4 minutes per car

I was looking at some industry stats after a coworker complained about our lunch rush, and apparently hitting under 3 minutes is considered elite? We had a record 92 cars in an hour last Saturday and I felt like dying, but apparently some places do that regularly. Has anyone else seen those service time benchmarks and thought 'yeah, that ain't happening here'?

Doesn't the pressure to hit those times just make places cut corners with your food?

Question whether those numbers even matter when half the cars have to pull forward and wait anyway. Four minutes sounds like a pipe dream if you've ever watched someone try to order a customized coffee drink through a speaker box that sounds like it's underwater. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like every drive-thru near me hits a wall the second someone pulls out a credit card and starts fishing for rewards points. These benchmarks probably come from test runs with perfect customers and zero actual humanity involved.
