Swapped my old slag hammer for a spring-loaded one on a big boiler tube job

I was fighting to chip slag off tube welds for hours on a repair at a paper mill near Longview, and my buddy handed me a spring-loaded hammer. It cut the clean-up time in half and saved my wrist from all that repetitive pounding. Has anyone else made the switch or do you stick with the standard hammer?

That spring loaded hammer made a world of difference on my last refinery turnaround too. I was chipping flux off hardfaced tube sheets for three days straight and my elbow got so sore I could barely grip a coffee cup. Switching to the spring hammer let me finish the job without needing ice packs every night.

Man that spring-loaded hammer saved my bacon too. My wrist sounded like a bowl of Rice Krispies after a long day with the old one, pop snap crackle. Now I look like a hero in the crew for switching but really I just wanted to be able to hold my coffee mug without wincing.
