Wasted $400 on a cheap flux core welder from Amazon
Tbh I thought I was being smart saving money. Bought it 8 months ago and it struggled to burn through anything thicker than 1/8 inch. Gave me nothing but bird nests and spatter. Finally borrowed my buddy's Miller last week and realized what a real welder should do. Could have bought a used Lincoln for half that price. Anyone else get burned by those bargain brand machines?

Right @emmajackson why does nobody warn us about this before we jump in blind lol? I swear I did the exact same thing and it took me way too long to figure out where I went wrong. It's like you think you've got it all sorted out and then everything just falls apart. Now I always double check everything twice before moving forward. Honestly it's crazy how many people must go through this same mess without saying anything.
