I finally got my book club in Cincinnati to read a graphic novel and this one guy, Mark, who always hated the idea, said he'd never felt a character's loneliness so clearly as he did reading 'Daytripper'.

He told me after the meeting at the coffee shop on Elm Street that the art did something prose alone couldn't, which felt like a huge win after arguing for visual storytelling for like six months.

That "art did something prose alone couldn't" line is interesting, but I've read books that made me feel that same loneliness with just words.
