TIL the library downtown has a book repair station and nobody uses it

Stopped by the central branch in Omaha yesterday to pick up a hold and noticed a corner I'd never seen. They've got a full repair setup, bone folders, PVA, even a guillotine for trimming. Librarian said in 6 months maybe 3 people have touched it. I sat down and fixed 2 of my own paperbacks right there, hinge repairs and edge tape. It felt like finding a secret workshop. Is this common at other libraries or did I just stumble on something weird?

Wait till you hear my library has a 3D printer no one's touched in months. Same vibe but way more intimidating.

and honestly i think that's the real problem right there. libraries buy all this cool tech thinking people will flock to it but nobody wants to learn something that looks like a science project. the 3D printer just sits there being loud and confusing while everyone walks past it to grab paperbacks. like congrats you have a machine that makes plastic junk slowly, while i could be on my couch reading a book in two seconds flat. honestly that thing's probably got dust thicker than my toaster.
