Why does nobody talk about booking flights on a Tuesday at 6 AM?
Last month I booked a round trip from Chicago to Portland for $180 total by setting my alarm for 5:45 AM on a Tuesday. Everyone swears by incognito mode and clearing cookies, but I think the time of day matters way more. I checked the same route at noon on that same day and it was $320. Has anyone else tested specific booking times against the usual hacks?

Oh, absolutely! I've noticed the same thing with early morning bookings, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Last fall I snagged a flight from Atlanta to Denver for $140 by booking right at 6 AM on a Wednesday, and when I checked it again that evening it was over $250. I think the airlines update their systems overnight and those early morning prices are the freshest before demand drives them up.

Used to think the whole "book on Tuesday" thing was just a myth people repeated. But seeing that price jump from $140 to $250 in one day makes me rethink everything. You changed my mind on this one.
