My emergency fund hit $5,000 and it felt like nothing

I've been putting $100 from every check into a savings account for what feels like forever, just because every guide says you should. I checked the balance today and it was over five grand, which is more than my car is worth. Has hitting a number you thought would feel big ever just left you flat?
