My sister looked at my grocery list and asked why I was buying cereal at full price twice a month
I was doing two big grocery runs a month and never tracked what I was actually paying per item, so cereal, snacks, and coffee were quietly eating $60 of my budget every trip. She pointed out that I buy the same 8 things every time, so I switched to stocking up on those only when they hit a real sale and my bill dropped to $140 for the same stuff. Does anyone else keep a short list of repeat buys and just wait for the price to dip, or do you grab whatever's on the shelf and adjust somewhere else?

Stocking up only on sales is the move. I do the same with about 10 items, mostly pasta, coffee, and frozen stuff. Full price is for suckers when you know the sale cycle runs every 6 to 8 weeks.

The "sale cycle runs every 6 to 8 weeks" thing is real and once you see it you can't unsee it. Same pattern shows up everywhere, not just groceries. My electric bill spikes every summer like clockwork, so I run the dryer at night and hang stuff when I can. Gas prices jump before every holiday weekend, so I fill up on the Tuesday before. Even my streaming apps do it, they jack the price up and then "surprise" you with a deal a few months later. Companies count on us being too busy to notice the rhythm, and the second you start watching for it, you stop paying full price for anything.
