The coffee shop habit I finally broke

I used to grab a latte every morning on my way to work, which was about $5 a day. After checking my bank app, I saw I spent over $100 on coffee in just one month. Now I make a big pot at home and bring it in a thermos, and that extra cash is going straight to my car payment. Anyone else cut out a small daily cost that added up fast?

Nah, that daily coffee run is a non-negotiable ritual for me. The five bucks is for the experience, not just the caffeine. It's my quiet moment before the work day chaos, and that barista knows my order. Cutting it out feels like punishing yourself for a tiny joy.

You call it a tiny joy, but five bucks a day adds up to over a grand a year. That's a real vacation or a big bill paid. My quiet moment is making my own coffee at home, and it tastes better because I made it how I like. The ritual is what you make it, not where you buy it.
