Caught myself explaining why I still use a paper journal to a younger coworker last week

I was sitting in the break room filling out my weekly spread and she asked if I'd ever tried one of those digital planning apps. I said no and started rambling about how I like the feel of pen on paper and how flipping back through old notebooks is like looking at a time capsule. She nodded but I could tell she didn't really get it. Then she said something like "but isn't it a lot of work to set up every month?" and that made me stop and think. I realized I've been doing this since 2016 so the setup is just automatic for me now. But I remember back when I first started I watched like 20 YouTube videos and bought three different notebooks before I found my groove. Made me wonder how many people skip bullet journaling because the learning curve feels too steep at first. Has anyone else had a moment where explaining your process to someone new made you see it different?

Totally get that, explaining the time capsule feeling made me appreciate my old notebooks even more.

What's the oldest notebook you found that really hit you?
