Spent $45 on a fancy fountain pen for my bullet journal and it was a total waste

I got a Lamy Safari last year thinking it would make my daily logging feel more special, but the ink smudges on my Leuchtturm paper and it just slows me down. I'm back to using my old $2 gel pens because they're fast and don't bleed. Anyone have a good pen that writes quick and dries fast for rapid logging?

What paper are you using? I used to think expensive pens were the answer but cheap gel pens on regular paper work way better for me.
