A farm picking up our scraps showed me a better way to handle waste
We used to throw all our trimmings in the trash without a second thought. Now, a nearby farm collects them every Thursday for their compost pile. It takes a bit of effort to sort bones and fat, but it keeps a lot out of the landfill. I feel like we're doing our part, and it costs us nothing.

What happens to the bones and fat if the farm is just composting? Do they have a separate system for that? My cousin tried giving his restaurant scraps to a local gardener but got turned down because of meat... makes me wonder if oliverbailey's friend Sam has the same issue with coffee grounds or if those are easier. Seems like every place has different rules for what they can take.
