Finally figured out why my drawer slides kept binding after three hours of adjusting

Turns out I had the cabinet box 2 millimeters out of square the whole time, has anyone else chased a tiny measurement issue that ruined their whole afternoon?

Wait @alice808, isn't 2mm tight enough that shimming just shifts the problem somewhere else?

Actually saying "three hours of adjusting" is probably underselling it. Once you start chasing something that's off by millimeters, it can easily turn into a whole day if you're not careful. But I have to point out one thing - you said the cabinet box was 2 millimeters out of square. That's actually pretty common, especially if the floor or wall isn't level. The real fix isn't just squaring the box, it's making sure the slides are shimmed so they run true regardless. If the box itself is racked, even a perfectly square slide will bind when you load it. So you might want to check if the drawer face is rubbing on the frame too, because that 2mm can show up there as well.
